Meet The Physician
Dr. John W. Ellis started practice in 1984 as a faculty member in the University of Tennessee Department of Pediatrics. During his three years with UTMG, he taught medical students and residents while he worked with Dr. Frizzell to build the general pediatric practice. He left the university and UTMG in 1987 to join Health First Medical Group, where he served as chief of pediatrics from 1989 to 1997 and medical director from 1997 to April 2001.
In April 2001 he joined Pediatric Consultants, P.C. Dr. Ellis remains a Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of Tennessee Department of Pediatrics on a voluntary basis.
Dr. Ellis is married with three children and enjoys genealogy research, sports, old movies, fiction novels and spending time with his family.
